EXCLUSION PERIODS

Know When Cover Starts

Pet insurance does not necessarily cover conditions immediately after the policy begins. Knose applies exclusion periods to different categories of cover.

🩹

Injury — 1 Day

Knose currently states a one-day exclusion period for injuries.

🩺

Illness — 14 Days

Knose currently states a 14-day exclusion period for illnesses.

🦷

Selected Conditions — 6 Months

Longer periods apply to specified conditions and eligible optional Dental Illness and Behavioural Conditions cover. Check the current PDS for exceptions and details.

PRE-EXISTING CONDITIONS

Why Your Pet's Medical History Matters

Pet insurance is generally designed for unexpected future events rather than conditions that already existed before cover commenced or arose during an applicable exclusion period. Knose assesses pre-existing symptoms and conditions according to its policy wording.

When obtaining a quote and purchasing cover, read the current Product Disclosure Statement carefully and provide accurate information about your pet.

Routine care: Knose's pet insurance does not cover routine and preventative care such as vaccinations, routine check-ups and grooming. Knose Pet Care Plans are a separate product and should not be confused with pet insurance.
